Information

More about the wonderful location of our Eden homes.

Located 3.5 km from the municipality, the beaches of the maritime neighborhoods of Sant Salvador, Coma-ruga and El Francàs constitute one of the main attractions of the municipality.

The coast, about seven kilometres long, is low, straight and made up of fine sandy beaches. In addition to the tranquillity, transparency and pleasant temperature of the sea, there is also a high percentage of iodine in the waters of this corner of the Costa Dorada, which makes them particularly healthy.

Since 1988, the coast of El Vendrell has been awarded the Blue Flag and is often considered one of the best beaches in Catalonia. El Vendrell is particulaty for sunbathing and water sports. The promenade still preserves some 19th-century style houses and the old liquor warehouses.

Shortly before reaching the old Sant Joan de Déu sanatorium (now converted into a five-star hotel), we find Les Madrigueres, a natural habitat used by a large number of birds during their migratory stages.

Coma-ruga beach has the La Masia Blanca marine reserve, a submerged space typical of sandy beaches with a gentle slope. The fauna and flora that they are trying to protect are broadly representative of more than half of the Catalan coastline.

Wine and cava are two excellent products that are produced in our municipality and in the Baix Penedès region and form part of the DO Penedès wine region.

The wineries and cooperatives offer a wide selection of wines and cavas, the result of a careful selection of the varieties of the area. For white wines or cavas, there is Macabeo, Xarel lo, Parellada and Chardonnay; for red wines, Tempranillo, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.

This wide range of grapes gives great quality, richness, balance, aroma and alcohol content to wine and cava, making them ideal to accompany the local and traditional cuisine of our land.

The cultural heritage of El Vendrell is characterised by its ancient traditions and artistic legacies of universal value. The city is home to five museums: the Pau Casals Museum, the Casa natal de Pau Casals, the Àngel Guimerà Museum, the Deu Museum and the Apel·les Fenosa Foundation.

In addition, the Portal del Pardo exhibition hall and the La Fusteria municipal space offer regular programming of visual arts and associative activities.

The performing arts programme, coordinated under the "Season" guide, takes place at the Àngel Guimerà Theatre, the Pau Casals Auditorium and the Tivoli Auditorium, with an attractive cultural offering for a heterogeneous public.
The strong cultural activism of the residents is reflected in numerous associations and in the importance of popular dances and fire festivals in the collective identity of the town.

Music is an essential component of Vendrell's cultural identity, particularly notable for the figure of the famous cellist and conductor Pau Casals. The Pau Casals Museum, located on San Salvador beach, honours his life and work, offering exhibitions on his musical legacy and organising concerts that perpetuate his memory. In addition, the Casa Nativa de Pau Casals on Calle de Santa Ana provides an intimate insight into his childhood and family environment, allowing visitors to learn more about the origins of this influential musician.

The Pau Casals Auditorium is another important space dedicated to music in Vendrell. This auditorium hosts a varied programme of concerts and cultural events, from classical music to contemporary genres, attracting a diverse audience. These three pillars - the Museum, the Casa Nativa and the Pau Casals Auditorium - reflect the city's deep connection with music and the enduring legacy of Pau Casals in the cultural life of Vendrell.
